During the Terraform run the deployment host will run an Ansible ping command to test connectivity to the new Instances.

Once the Instances are live, Terraform will invoke an Ansible playbook to ping test between each node, the traffic route is displayed and shows traversal across the virtual router between networks.

It is even more interesting to run this command from the deployment host to an instance via a floating IP, the NAT traversal is displayed. The SG rules dictate any ICMP type.
